What’s My Purpose Again? Figuring Out Who You Are As a Woman in a Loud World!

The Question That Keeps Us Up at Night

Have you ever just stared at the ceiling and whispered to yourself:
"What am I even doing with my life?"
Yeah, me too.
Sometimes it feels like everyone around us is chasing their dream job, building empires, or finding their "why"- and we’re just trying to make it through the week without crying in the shower.
Let me remind you of something though: You are not lost, You are unfolding.

Let’s talk about it: You’re Not Behind. You’re Becoming.

There’s this silent pressure on women to have it all figured out by 25 or even earlier. Career, marriage, spiritual clarity, passion projects, side hustle, gym body… the list is endless. But purpose doesn’t work like that.

Your purpose doesn’t have a deadline.
You’re allowed to evolve, change your mind, shift directions, and grow slowly. Every season of confusion, pause, or quiet is still part of your journey.

🧘🏽‍♀️ Affirmation: “I’m not late. I’m on time for my own life.”

Purpose Isn’t Always a Job Title

Let’s bust a myth: Purpose ≠ Career.
Some women are called to nurture.
Some are called to build.
Some are here to speak, to lead, to rest, to heal, to hold space.

Purpose can look like:

  • Raising emotionally safe children.

  • Holding space for your friends.

  • Sharing your healing journey online.

  • Creating art.

  • Encouraging one stranger on a hard day.

We often overlook our purpose because we expect it to come with a paycheck, a podium, or a platform. But sometimes your purpose is just who you are when you're being your most whole, honest self.

Signs You’re Closer Than You Think

Sometimes we’re living pieces of our purpose without even realizing it. Here are signs you're already walking in it:

What lights you up even when it’s hard?
What do people thank you for or come to you for naturally?
What would you do for free just because it brings you joy or peace?
What did younger you dream about before the world told her to be practical?

Purpose isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s a whisper you’ve been ignoring.

Gentle Discovery Exercises

If you’re in the “I don’t even know where to start” phase, here’s what you can do:

📝 Journal Prompt #1: “If fear wasn’t a factor, I would…………” (write down as many as you like)
💌 Write a letter from your 80-year-old self to your current self. What would she say?
📌 Try the “Joy Audit”:

  • List the last 5 moments you felt truly alive.

  • What were you doing?

  • Who were you with?

  • What part of you felt seen?

This isn’t about finding a perfect answer, it’s about listening more closely to yourself.

Let It Unfold, Don’t Force It

Your purpose is not a fixed destination. It evolves. It grows with you. And some seasons are just for learning, resting, or healing, not producing or performing.

Give yourself permission to move slowly. To change. To get it “wrong” and try again. Trust that what is meant for you will always call you home, even if the path looks uncertain right now.

You are not empty.
You are becoming.
And your life doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s to be meaningful.

So if you’re feeling lost right now baby girl, hold on. You’re still on your way. 🌸
